The holiday season means it’s finally time to enjoy one of my favorite drinks: eggnog! The creamy, spiced beverage has been a staple since I was a kid. Even though I’m cursed with lactose intolerance, I always purchase a carton once winter rolls around (and double up on the lactase pills).

Of course, there are a slew of dairy-free alternatives available, whether it's whipping up a batch from scratch with almond milk or opting for a store-bought carton made with plant-based ingredients. Over the years, I’ve definitely had my fair share of plant-based eggnogs, from almond, soy, and even coconut milk (not to be confused with my equally beloved coquito). And yet, I always struggled to find one that hits all the right notes.

Well, all that changes now because Costco just added a new plant-based eggnog to its inventory, and it's so good it's now at the top of my list of favorite eggnogs.

Costco Now Sells Elmhurst 1925 Oat Nog

Costco is now selling Elmhurst 1925 Oat Nog, a vegan spin on the traditional holiday drink. Elmhurst 1925 is a plant-based company founded in New York that produces dairy-free drinks made with whole ingredients. The brand has quickly become a fan favorite within dairy-free communities, and thanks to this partnership with Costco, that popularity is continuing to grow.

Last month, Costco rolled out a 3-pack of Elmhurst 1925's popular Oat Nog, allowing shoppers to stock up on the seasonal sip. I got a chance to sample the oat nog, and it was even better than I’d hoped.

The cozy and creamy drink is made with oat milk and tastes rich and perfectly spiced. While the texture is slightly thinner than a dairy-based version, I quite liked it because it meant I could enjoy a full glass without it feeling too heavy. I’ve loved adding it to my morning lattes, milkshakes, and even my hot cocoa.
